Why everyone loves Tiramisu

The word Tiramisu literally means to “pick me up” or “lift me up” and that’s exactly what this dessert does. Creamy and rich layers of mascarpone cream layered between espresso soaked lady fingers and topped with cacao powder delivers the perfect combo of sweet, bitter, creamy and decadence. You will be surprised how easy it is to make compared to how delicious this is! Tiramisu is traditionally made with whipped egg whites but for this recipe we are taking a modern twist while keeping things classic and NONNA APPROVED!

Important to know before making

  • Patience is king. rest tiramisu in the fridge before devouring so you dont end up with crunchy lady fingers. 8hrs is permissible. 12hrs is better. 24hrs is BEST!

  • Use high quality cheese and coffee. if you cannot access espresso, brew a strong amount of your favorite coffee instead.

  • avoid over soaking the lady fingers. this isn’t a. flavor issue, its a “I won’t even be able to hold the lady finger because its so soggy” issue.

  • Dust cacao powder on top right before serving for the best flavor
