Addictive pickled red onions

Quick pickle condiment good on everything!

This is the best condiment ever, period. Make this as is or add whatever extra ingredients you’d like (peppers, sliced garlic,). Don’t be shy to play around with this perfect base brine! If your are trying to get into pickled things, this is a great starting point to look back on and move forward with. #pickled

Quick tips to make the best version

  • Toast any spices you plan to use in the oven or in a medium lit pan (dry) until fragrant. This will add more layers of flavors and infuse them better!

  • Im using white vinegar but if you can use different kinds of vinegar to your liking (apple cider for tart, sweetness,/ rice vinegar for mild, less acidic/balasamic for sweet, complex flavors)

  • after brine goes in, let the onions sit in the fridge for 2-4 hours for the best flavor!

First of all the RECIPE

  • 3-4 Red onions

  • 1.5Cup water

  • 1.5Cup vinegar of choice (I used white vinegar)

  • 3Tbsp sugar

  • 1Tbsp of OCEAN (SALT)

  • 1 cinnamon stick (toasted)

  • Oregano (dried)

  • Sliced jalapeno (optional for a clean heat)
